Do you ever feel that the job you have is because of your luck and not because you are talented?

You feel like you are a fraud!

You don’t feel great for being appreciated for your success because you think that you do not deserve it!

Well, if you ever had these thoughts then you are in a very common situation called the Imposter Syndrome. According to research, it is found that most of the people suffer from Imposter Syndrome at a particular point in their career especially women in technology and the minorities.

I will share my experience. After my 3rd year, I managed to get an internship at Defence Research and Development Organization. Getting an internship at DRDO was not an easy task. After my final selection, I started doubting my capabilities and thought that I got this internship opportunity because of my luck and not because I am talented and had worked hard for this. It’s very easy to forget how hard you’ve worked to get to where you are now. I was really scared to meet my mentor the very first day. There were thousands of thoughts rushing inside my little brain. I was not able to understand my project for about 1 week. I realized after 10 days in office that I was not able to work efficiently. I had no idea how I would complete my assignment and I felt like I was not suitable for the job. I realized that something is wrong and soon tried to pull myself from the negative situation. Tedx Video was my savior. Whenever I feel demoralized I love watching TEDx video and luckily I came across the video mentioned below:

I came to know about Imposter Syndrome and soon planned to get out of it. The best part is that it is very easy to come out of Imposter Syndrome. I followed some of the very natural ways

1. I made a list of my achievements till date and used to read every single morning for 28 days.

2. I started making a list of ten blessings in my life that I am grateful for every day.

3. Engage yourself in things that boost your confidence.

4. Find freedom from self-doubt.

I followed the above-mentioned points and in no time started to feel a difference. Day by day I started to gain confidence in my work and realized that I was able to contribute a lot to the project. Remember that confidence is the key! You deserve what you have and what you are. Have faith in yourself because it is you who can make a difference.
